We thought we’d feature this beautiful cosy wrap knitted in Colourscape Chunky. The pattern is by Kim Hargreaves and takes 4 hanks of Colourscape Chunky (100% lambswool). The wrap featured in the picture is knitted in Spring shade 442 on 8mm needles. Colourscape chunky is on special offer at the moment at 10.00 euro per 100g hank (reduced from 16.67 euro per 100g hank).

Bernie’s Knitted Bears

When Bernie showed us these wonderful hand knitted bears (all knitted by her) all together we thought we would share them with you. Molly (in the last picture) was feeling left out so she thought she would join in the fun.

Bernie had a “Bear List” at Christmas and they all went to good homes. The pattern was taken from Zoe Mellor’s Nursery Knits.

Hyperbolic Crochet – Coral Reef

The “Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef” is a worldwide project that marries mathematics, marine biology, handicraft, community art practice and environmental consciousness-raising. People all over the world – from London and New York to Capetown – are collectively crocheting coral reefs.

Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef brings together the fate of an ecosystem on the brink of permanent destruction, and the feminine craft of crochet. A woolly testimony that celebrates the hyperbolic geometry of coral, Crochet Coral Reef also draws attention to how global warming and pollutants are threatening this fragile ecosystem.

The picture shown is a finished piece of crochet coral by Nadine who spends Saturdays with us crocheting and knitting (crochet being her first love).

Knitted Headband

We found this pattern for the cutest headband on the internet which can be found on the link below. They are all the rage at the moment. There is a pattern for a chunky version and a thin version whichever takes your fancy. We haven’t tried it ourselves yet but when we do we will post a picture. Link
