Hyperbolic Crochet – Coral Reef

The “Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef” is a worldwide project that marries mathematics, marine biology, handicraft, community art practice and environmental consciousness-raising. People all over the world – from London and New York to Capetown – are collectively crocheting coral reefs.

Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef brings together the fate of an ecosystem on the brink of permanent destruction, and the feminine craft of crochet. A woolly testimony that celebrates the hyperbolic geometry of coral, Crochet Coral Reef also draws attention to how global warming and pollutants are threatening this fragile ecosystem.

The picture shown is a finished piece of crochet coral by Nadine who spends Saturdays with us crocheting and knitting (crochet being her first love).

Stitch Tea Party

We held a tea party on Saturday July 25th to celebrate the launch of our online shop. We had a great day and the sunny weather meant that everyone could take maximum advantage of the garden.

Kids Knit Camp

This summer we ran two Knit Camps for Kids in July and August.
They were a great success.
Projects were based on Sirdar Big Softie Patterns.

Big Softie Patterns are designed for beginners and include a range for girls age 4 years and up.
